I-CAR Donates $20,000 to support TCAT Students
I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. I-CAR was formed in 1979 and has local committees through the United States. The Knoxville I-CAR Committee has been active for several years supporting the local collision repair industry. They have been working with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in Knoxville and Morristown over the last few years. Randy Dunn the Collision Repair Instructor at TCAT Morristown said that when he started teaching he had nothing to work with but the local I-CAR committee has provided him the resources that he needed to get his program up and running.
The Knoxville I-CAR committee holds an annual golf tournament to raise funds to help local collision repair training program produce top notch technician for local shops to employ. The committee met at Calhoun's On the River in Knoxville on Thursday, December 15, 2016 for their Christmas luncheon. During this meeting they presented TCAT Knoxville and Morristown each with a $10,000 check to help with the needs of the collision repair programs at each institution.
